Go to your place of creative Zen! Join published artist and calligrapher Sally Towers-Sybblis as she leads you through the techniques to create a series of visually stunning landscape cards and hand painted envelopes. Learn how to create elements of the land using simple painting techniques along with Zen inspired drawing. This class is sure to create calm in your classroom!
Take your design and turn it into a one of a kind art card. This class is very relaxing and thoroughly creative! Absolutely no experience is required. Delegates will complete a project or two in this session.
You have a choice of how you would like to do this art class. If you wish to create the projects, you will need the supplies. There are only 20 supply kits available so it's first come first served. You can purchase the supplies by etransfer to sally@sallytowerssybblis.com. They will be mailed to you. YOU MUST ORDER THEM AT LEAST TWO FULL WEEKS BEFORE the start of the conference or they may not arrive on time. The cost of the supplies is $35 including shipping. Alternatively you can provide your own supplies. Here are the supplies you will need should you choose to bring your own:
- the 11x17" handout
- 1- 10x26" sheet of Arches Text Wove paper OR a very light weight watercolor paper (no more than 90lb)
- 2- 8.5x11" sheets of black card stock
- 2 - 8.5x11" sheets of colored card stock (choose colors that match your paint colors)
- a #6 round paint brush or something similar
- a water container
- a rag
- 2 - sheets of paper towel
- a note pad or paper to take notes
- pencil
- eraser
- scissors
- ruler
- double sided tape or glue stick
- a 12" piece of Bead landing beading elastic (available at Michaels)
- a hole punch
- a very fine black permanent pen
- a white gel pen ( I recommend one of these: a #10 Sakura brand gelly roll pen, a white Uniball Signo Pen, or a white Posca pen size 0.7mm)
- a paint palette or paper plate
- watercolor paints (at least 3 colors or more if you want to mix colors) The paints that are in tubes work best. Staples has a good set for around $10. They are Staedtler brand watercolor paints.
