You need to bring supplies OR buy participant kits from the speaker for some sessions. The session description gives the information to purchase. KITS NEED TO BE PAID FOR IN TIME FOR THE SUPPLIES TO BE MAILED TO YOU. You can filter for these sessions using: Purchase or gather supplies.

Expressive Techniques in Acrylics & Mixed Media

During this session, the participants create personally meaningful and expressive works of art using acrylic paint, collage techniques and mixed media. They explore abstraction and heighten awareness of composition, line, form, rhythm and mood. Specific techniques that create rich textural surfaces, glazed and stained fields of color, aesthetic ways of organizing space, pattern and color will be examined. The projects presented are suitable for all grade levels and can be modified to address various abilities. A supplies list which you will need to collect on your own will be provided in this description 3 weeks before the convention date, so please check back.

Expressive Techniques in Acrylic Supplies List
1. 3 canvases 7x9”
2. Acrylic Paint : white and black
3. Oil Pastels: black and white
4. Masking tape
5. ½ inch and 1/4 inch flat brushes
6. #3 and #4 round brushes or a thin liner brush for adding details
7. A few paper towels
8. A few sheets of Kleenex
9. A hairdryer
10. A water container
11. A spray bottle
12. A paint palette or a piece of wax paper for the paints
