Acrylics beyond Realism

During this session, the participants work on guided projects that introduce new techniques such as complementary underpainting, increased color accuracy, observational accuracy and detail using a limited palette of acrylic paints. The participants will move gradually from a figurative drawing to a unique abstract painting to create a few abstract projects suitable for all grade levels and abilities. A supplies list which you will need to collect on your own will be provided in this description 3 weeks before the convention date, so please check back.

Acrylics Beyond Realism Supplies List
1. 2 canvases- one 11x14” and a square one size 10x10”
2. Acrylic Paint : white, black, green, blue, yellow, and brown
3. Masking tape
4. ½ inch and 1/4 inch flat brushes
5. #3 and #4 round brushes or a thin liner brush for adding details
6. A few paper towels
7. A few sheets of Kleenex
8. A hairdryer
9. A paint palette or a piece of wax paper for the paints
10. The birch trees picture (provided in the session description as an attachment in Sched)
