With board games taking a huge leap in popularity in the passed 5 years, the genre has become more inclusive with our younger audiences. Gaming is all around us, but unlike the video gaming kind, children don't have to spend time behind a screen, and instead, with board games, they can sit around a table, desk, or even the floor, and enjoy each other's company, socialize, and learn from and about each other, and themselves.

This session will be presenting multiple board games that teachers can use in the classroom. The board games are designed to be engaging, and easy enough for students between the grades of K-2 to pick up and play with minimal explanation of the rules. The purpose is to promote socialization skills, problem-solving skills, mathematics, comprehension practices, strategies, and most importantly, having fun. In turn, the hope is that the teacher will only have to explain the rules a couple of times, and afterwards the students can pick up and play the game. All games presented will require minimal to no reading needed to play.

The best thing about board games is replay-ability, and this session is designed to present games that have a high degree of replay-ability. The games presented in the session are relatively low in cost, and students enjoy themselves without even realizing they are learning valuable skills.

All games involved in this session have been tested and played by children of ages 3-7.
