The Fort Museum is located in Fort Macleod, Alberta and is one of the main attractions in southern Alberta. The Fort Museum includes 8 buildings, over 9,000 artifacts, and 2 of the oldest buildings in the area that have been restored on their original sites: the Fred Kanouse trading cabin, and Fredrick Haultain’s law office.
Fort Macleod is home to the first recorded NWMP Musical Ride which took place in 1876. The museum is proud to continue the only on-site re-enactment of the NWMP Musical Ride in Canada, in the town it originated in. Visit us today!
