David’s current theatre making adventures include serving as artistic producer and director for the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, an epic, outdoor production in Drumheller, Alberta. For the past fifteen years he has worked as a resident actor, director, sound designer and instructor with Rosebud Theatre and Rosebud School of the Arts. Prior to that, he spent eight years as an artistic associate with Chemainus Theatre Festival on Vancouver Island. He is a graduate of the MFA Theatre programme at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Selected directing credits include Grace & Glorie and Valley Song for Rosebud Theatre and acting roles include Toad and Dragon in A Wind in the Willows Christmas, Otto Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank (Calgary Critter Award Nomination), Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (Rosebud Theatre).
