Dr. Melissa (Missy) Steeves has been teaching Humanities in rural Alberta since 2007. Missy has had the opportunities to work in a trauma-informed, inclusive schools and classrooms alongside amazing colleagues throughout her career. Classroom teaching has opened doors to working as an association instructor with the Alberta Teachers Association where she has facilitated and written workshops. Additionally, she was seconded for two years with the Alberta Assessment Consortium, where she designed assessments and delivered presentations to audiences across Alberta. Missy is currently seconded with Alberta Education. She completed her Masters degree in Education Leadership, and her Doctorate with her dissertation focused on "Insights from Indigenous Students on High School Completion" in 2020.
